How does the Junior and Youth programme work?
About Junior and Youth programme :
The Franklin United Junior and Youth programme was established in 2018 to provide quality training for talented 10-17yo players in the Franklin region. We form teams in each age group which play in NRF competitions, aiming for a spot in higher divisions.
Franklin United has qualified coaches who deliver the programme, supported by the Franklin Board and administration staff.
Franklin Junior ; U10-11, U12 Mixed, players train 2 times a week with Junior programme coaches & play in Franklin United teams at Drury and across Auckland.
Franklin Youth ; U13,U14,U15,U17 mixed players train 3 nights a week with Youth programme coaches at Drury or Opaheke.

Please attend all trials for the correct age group. If you can’t attend please let us know after doing registration.

Junior and Youth programme Trials Registration -
Please register at link above before attending trial sessions. You wont be registered into Comet until selected for a team.
Team Trials are held in February 2023
For Male players born between 2006 – 2013 (U10-U17)
For Female players born between 2008 – 2013 (U10-U14)
When:
Tuesday, February 7th
Thursday, February 9th
Where:
Drury UFC, Drury Sports Complex
Time:
4:15-5:15pm for Male U10, 11, 12
5:30pm-6:45pm for Male U13-U17 and Female U10-U14
Trials/age groups:
U10-11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16-17 Please select your current age, teams will be based on age/ability once players are selected following trials.
Fees: 2023
If selected to represent Franklin United this season, the cost to be involved in 2023 are as follows: U10-U12 Juniors $800 and U13-U17 mixed teams $1200 due by 1st March, includes Comet registration.
Fees are an annual amount which covers all training sessions Terms 1-4.

Uniform/ Training kit: Now Lotto branded.
Players wear training kit (Lotto Black Top, Shorts and socks) to all training sessions, the Black shorts/socks are also used for Games and Red Game tops are provided for the season.

What is Franklin United Junior and Youth programme?
This has been set up to provide the Franklin community the opportunity for ambitious and potential footballers to follow an elite footballing pathway (All Whites, USA University Scholarship etc.).
Who and what ages does the Junior and Youth programme cater for?
This has been set up for local Franklin kids, from Bombay, to Mercer, to Drury, to Awhitu. Talent Centre age group starts with training for 9/12yos and teams start at 13th grade goes up to 17th grade.
Where do the Youth teams play?
The Youth teams will play for Franklin United in the highest NRF competition possible.
Can you be part of the Junior and Youth programme but still play for your club?
There are opportunities for players who just want to be exposed to the talent centre development, but also play with their friends at their local club (not for Franklin United).
How much does it cost?
The programme fees are in line with all other Auckland footballing talent programmes.
Is there trials?
The main trials are held in February each year, we welcome players to trial during year, please email us to ask training session details.
What if we can’t afford to put our child through the Junior and Youth programme?
There are limited funding opportunities available and players can be selected with a reference from your local club and completing a process with Franklin United. This is to help players that may not be able to afford the fees. Payment plans are available but must be arranged prior to starting.
